06 May Blisters
Blisters are small pockets of fluid within the upper layers of the skin, typically caused by forceful rubbing (friction).
Blisters occur when feet get hot and perspire, making the socks (or tights) stick to the feet. The sock and foot then rub against each other and the inside of the shoe.
Most blisters are filled with a clear fluid called serum. However, blisters can be filled with blood (known as blood blisters) or with pus (if they become infected).
It is important that you leave the blister alone, most of the time the fluid will reabsorb and then heal on its own. If it becomes infected please visit your doctor.
Prevention is better than cure as the saying goes and we have many products that can help stop blisters occurring, whilst protecting blisters if you were too late!
